Word for 2022

Last year, I began what several friends have done for years. I prayed at the beginning of the year for God to give me a word for my focus in that year. For 2021, He gave me joy and I indeed learned to find joy in the smallest things and the worst of circumstances.

My word for 2022 didn't come to me as easily. I prayed about perserverance. I prayed about beauty. I prayed about a lot of words and things.

Finally, last night while browsing through Pinterest I began to see the words 'intent', 'intention' and 'intentional' repeatedly.

I have a LOT of intentions for this year:

I am intent on losing weight, improving my health and appearance.

I am intent on travel.

I am intent on improving my financial status.

I am intent on learning new things--learning to whitewater kayak, learning to play the violin and improving my Spanish to name a few.

But I wasn't sure that this was what God was wanting so I look deeper into the word.

The definition of intent is resolved or determined to do something. An aim or a purpose. Being focused on something.

But I wanted to know what it meant biblically. CHRISTIAN INTENTION is a principle that is clearly under the Lordship of Christ. It's scriptural.

Since I left Church of the Highlands over two years ago, I've not only been without a church home, I've been without a purpose. I have served in several areas: prayer team, administration, prison ministry, human trafficking rescue and ministry, homeless serve and ministry, events, etc. I've been on mission trips but I've never felt called to one area in particular.

This year, my biblical intent is twofold: find a church home and find my purpose.

I ask for your prayers seeking God's will for both.
